About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, Noodle Pudding is a delightful Italian restaurant that offers an authentic taste of Italy in a cozy, welcoming setting. Located at 38 Henry St, this gem is well-loved for its commitment to traditional flavors and expertly crafted dishes that transport diners straight to the Italian countryside.

The moment you step inside, the warm ambiance wraps around you like a familiar embrace. It’s the kind of place where every detail, from the rustic wooden tables to the soft lighting, invites intimate gatherings and relaxed dinners with friends or loved ones. Noodle Pudding embodies that perfect blend of unpretentious charm and outstanding culinary quality.

The menu is a heartfelt celebration of classic Italian cuisine, showcasing an exceptional range of favorites that reflect both regional richness and simple, masterful technique. Start your meal with appetizers like the Mussels in Spicy Tomato Sauce (Impepata), where the fresh briny mussels are balanced by the vibrant kick of cracked black peppercorns, lemon, and garlic — a dish that instantly awakens the senses. For something equally tempting, the Zucchini Flowers and Vitello Tonnato offer delicate flavors that highlight quality ingredients and mindful preparation.

Dive into the pasta selections, and you’re in for a treat. The Lasagna Bolognese is a rich, comforting embrace with layers of savory meat sauce, tender pasta, and creamy béchamel — it’s the essence of indulgence without feeling heavy. Equally exquisite is the Bucatini Al' Cacio E Pepe, where the perfectly al dente pasta is coated in a luscious blend of cheese and spicy black pepper, creating a dish that’s both simple and deeply satisfying. For a heartier option, the Paccheri in Sunday Gravy and 5 Fish Pasta showcase a masterful balance of bold, home-style flavors that linger on the palate.

Main courses continue this journey of soulful Italian cooking. The Polpo (octopus) stewed with tomatoes and served alongside garlic bread exemplifies the kitchen’s finesse in elevating humble ingredients to dish out tender, flavor-packed bites. Meat lovers will appreciate the Straccetti, featuring thinly-pounded grilled beef dressed with arugula, mushrooms, shaved parmigiano, and a drizzle of fragrant truffle oil—a decadent yet balanced offering. The Roasted Half Chicken, sourced organically, is perfectly cooked and paired with seasonal vegetables, making for a wholesome yet indulgent choice.

No Italian meal is complete without dessert, and Noodle Pudding does not disappoint. The Tiramisu here is a cloud-like, espresso-soaked finale to your dining experience, while the Dark Chocolate Expresso Cake delivers a rich, bittersweet note that lingers beautifully. The classic Cannoli provides a delightful crisp contrast with its creamy, sweet filling.

Guests often praise Noodle Pudding not just for its exquisite cuisine but for the entire experience. Eric Lupo highlighted the restaurant’s cozy atmosphere paired with delicious dishes and appetizers, awarding it a full five stars. Ana Walsh applauded the concept of sharing multiple dishes and swore by the razor clams and wild pappardelle, encouraging diners to request the Ischia wine for a perfect pairing. Vanessa S. emphasized the authentic quality of the food and the attentive, friendly staff who make every visit memorable, noting the cash-only policy and no reservation system as part of the unique charm.

Indeed, Noodle Pudding feels like a true hidden treasure for those seeking authentic, heartfelt Italian dining without any pretense—just fantastic food made with passion. Whether you’re indulging in fresh pasta, savoring robust antipasto, or celebrating a special occasion as Carol Lynn Kopiak did, this restaurant promises an experience that warms both stomach and soul. For a taste of Italy that stays with you long after the last bite, Noodle Pudding is an absolute must-visit in Brooklyn.

Really a nice spot; we had many dishes to share - great idea to savor many different dishes. Razor Clams totally still the show but the wild papardelli was a great second! Mike sure to ask for Ischia wine, nice pairing.

Super cozy spot with authentic Italian food! Nothing fancy, just fantastic quality that you don’t get at a lot of other places. As a heads up: They don’t take reservations and only accept cash. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were top notch. Couldn’t ask for anything more! Thanks for the great dinner, will definitely come back.

If you’re looking for a true hidden gem, look no further than Noodle Pudding! This cozy spot serves some of the most authentic and comforting Italian food I’ve had. Every dish feels like it was made with love and tradition. The pasta is always cooked to perfection—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully sauced. Their lasagna and gnocchi are absolute standouts, rich and hearty without being heavy. The seafood dishes are fresh and vibrant, and their veal and chicken entrées are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Don’t even think about skipping dessert—the tiramisu is heavenly, and the panna cotta is the perfect sweet finish. Beyond the food, the atmosphere makes the experience even better. It’s warm, inviting, and unpretentious—like dining in a true neighborhood trattoria in Italy. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel like family the moment you sit down. Noodle Pudding is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. A true Brooklyn treasure and a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine!
